Weekend Bakery Delivery Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, with a focus on heavy lifting and warehouse operations. This role is weekend only, with shifts starting at 5.30am (coffee and pastry for breakfast is provided!).

This role will see you delivery 30-50 drops over the shift. We aim to have all deliveries to customers before 10am. From 10am you would then move over to special deliveries that can see you deliver to our home deliveries customers, or to large customer in Perthshire or Glasgow for example.

Duties

• Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. We operate with an all electric fleet
• Strong skillset in route planning and troubleshooting on the go with route adjustments
• Load and unload goods, performing heavy lifting as required.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of goods received and delivered.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns during the delivery process.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is essential
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety protocols.
• Experience in warehouse operations is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job effectively.
• A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated is required.
• Confident in working different apps and software such as routing apps and whatsapp.
