Role Purpose

The Weekend Children’s Referee is responsible for leading, supervising, and refereeing children’s football games and party activities in a safe, fun, and engaging manner. The role is key to ensuring children enjoy their experience while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.

Key Responsibilities Game & Activity Management

• Referee children’s football games in a fair, positive, and age-appropriate manner
• Explain rules clearly and keep games simple and fun
• Manage time to ensure activities run to schedule
• Adapt games based on age, ability, and group size

Safety & Supervision

• Ensure children are supervised at all times while on the pitch
• Enforce safety rules, including appropriate footwear and behaviour
• Stop play immediately if a safety concern arises
• Report all accidents, incidents, or near misses to the Duty Manager

Customer Experience

• Create an energetic, welcoming atmosphere for children and parents
• Encourage participation, teamwork, and good sportsmanship
• Communicate clearly with Party Hosts to ensure smooth transitions
• Support parents where needed and direct queries to reception or the Duty Manager

Equipment & Set-Up

• Ensure equipment is safe and suitable for use
• Tidy and return equipment to storage after activities

General Expectations

• Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts
• Wear the required uniform and maintain a professional appearance
• Follow all Dublin Sports Dome policies, SOPs, and safety procedures
• Work as part of a team and support colleagues during busy periods
• Carry out other reasonable duties as required by management

Skills & Attributes

• Confident and enthusiastic when working with children
• Clear communication and leadership skills
• Calm, patient, and responsible approach
• Ability to manage groups of children safely
• Interest or background in sport, coaching, or refereeing is an advantage

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: €14.15 per hour
