Job Summary
Labria Steel Fabrications and Designs Inc. is seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join its manufacturing team. The successful candidate will fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components using various welding techniques, tools, and machinery. This position requires precision, attention to detail, strong mechanical skills, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
The work must be completed on site at the employer’s physical location or at various work locations. There is no option to work remotely. Work may be performed in industrial, manufacturing, and residential settings. The work environment may be outdoors, dusty, hot, noisy, odorous, and dirty.

Duties
- Interpret welding process specifications.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
- Perform oxy-acetylene welding (OAW).
- Perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
- Perform gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG).
- Perform gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
- Perform flux core arc welding (FCAW).
- Perform fusion, stud, tubular, spool, friction, and multipass welding.
- Operate arc welding, gas welding, and spot welding machines.
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet applicable standards and specifications.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Operate brakes, shears, and other metal-shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal.
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
- Work with steel, iron, and other heavy metals.
- Perform custom fabrication.
- Repair machinery and equipment.
- Perform structural construction work.
- Work with cast iron and other metals.
- Perform ornamental metalwork.
- Fabricate and repair fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings.
- Apply specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
- Train or assist in the training of other workers.
Requirements
- English-language proficiency.
- Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
- Three years to less than five years of relevant experience.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to handle weights of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
- Efficient interpersonal skills.
- Organized, punctual, hardworking, and resourceful.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.

Travel expenses will be paid by the employer.
