Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling structural metal components in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and industry standards. Your expertise will ensure the creation of durable, high-quality structures that meet project specifications and safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction and fabrication projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine welding requirements and fabrication procedures.
• Perform various welding processes including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to join metal components securely.
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise measurements for cutting, fitting, and assembly of sheet metal and structural components.
• Operate fabrication shop equipment including press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and power tools to shape and assemble metal parts.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA standards, AWS (American Welding Society) standards, and ASME codes during all phases of fabrication and welding activities.
• Inspect completed welds using measuring instruments and visual checks to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with team members on construction sites or in shop environments to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural fabrication processes.
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret engineering schematics accurately.
• Experience operating rigging equipment, forklifts, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for precise measurements.
• Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, pipe threading, and structural steel erection.
• Strong shop math skills combined with basic math understanding for accurate measurements and calculations.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding environments including proper handling of power tools and gas cylinders.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced manufacturing or construction settings.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
