WHISKEY DISTILLERY OPERATOR

Salary: €40,000 - €43,470 DOE

Reporting to the Head Distiller, this role has core responsibility as a distillery operator within the Church of Oak distillery, carrying out all milling, mashing and distillation production processes as per the agreed production schedule. Full distillation operations training will be provided to the successful candidate. The successful candidate will play an important role in a developing, energetic team and must be a team player that is motivated and willing to learn and develop in the role.

Responsibilities

- Ensure that safe working practices and quality procedures are strictly followed to ensure compliance with Irish Revenue, environmental legislation, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and FEMAS requirements and to produce a safe product.

- Review, and keep updated, relevant Task Lists, SOP’s, work Instructions, and other relevant documentation to instigate the necessary changes post review.

- Ensure that all production targets are achieved as per the production plan laid out by the Head Distiller, including safety, quality volume and efficiency targets.

- Carry out basic plant maintenance, housekeeping and troubleshooting as scheduled and required to ensure that equipment availability is maximised for production.

- Maintain comprehensive records of all production processes in line with the distillery quality management system.

- Collect samples and perform laboratory based quality analysis through all stages of the production processes.

- Fill and store casks in accordance with the defined production plan.

- Identify and implement improvements that will enhance distillery operations through participation in team based continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications / Experience

- Qualification and/or experience in a Brewing or Distilling environment advantageous

- Production experience in the food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry is desirable

- Experience in the basic maintenance of pumps, valves and other production equipment would be an advantage.

Schedule

- Rostered 40hr average working week, covering 7-day operations.
