Description:
About the Role:
The Workplace Safety Business Partner will play a pivotal role in embedding a strong safety culture across Gowrie NSW. You will provide operational Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) support throughout the employee lifecycle, lead initiatives to enhance safety, and ensure compliance with legislative frameworks.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll partner with leaders and teams to design and implement WHS strategies, manage incidents, and champion best practices that keep our people safe and engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training and education programs, including inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Identify and monitor critical safety risks and implement appropriate controls.
  • Champion organisational safety risk awareness and adherence to processes.
  • Regularly communicate safety themes to all team members, including hazards & incident trends, and updated procedures, to ensure awareness and compliance.
  • Support development of learning programs focused on workplace health and safety.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record maintenance of the Safety Management System (Folio).
  • Conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate and support leaders and team members to enhance their skills and confidence in effectively implementing Gowrie NSW's workplace health, safety, and wellbeing practices and procedures
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualification in Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Proven experience leading WHS initiatives in a similar organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and coaching skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WHS systems.
  • Ability to travel regionally.
  • Experience in a regulated environment or the early education sector (highly desirable)
  • Working with geographically dispersed sites (desirable)
