Workshop Manager

LabWorks is seeking a Workshop Production Manager for their operations in Kerry. This role involves overseeing the entire production process in our CNC Production facility, steel workshop and warehouse ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality output. The position requires close coordination with procurement, quality control, and installation teams to meet production goals and maintain standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, including machinery, labour, and materials.
  • Coordinate activities to prevent delays in client orders or manufacturing phases.
  • Supervision & Team Management
  • Lead production teams ensuring effective communication and task delegation.
  • Provide workforce training, address performance issues, and promote safety awareness.
  • Quality Control
  • Monitor product quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Implement quality assurance protocols to identify and resolve defects promptly.
  • Equipment & Maintenance Management
  • Ensure all machinery is maintained and repaired to prevent downtime.
  • Work with the Service providers on preventive measures to maximize efficiency.
  • Health & Safety Management
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
  • Oversee the safe handling of hazardous materials and ensure regular safety training.
  • Inventory & Materials Management
  • Maintain raw material inventories to prevent production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with procurement for timely delivery and reduce material waste.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting
  • Track labour, material, and operational costs, proposing measures to improve profitability.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Production Reporting & Documentation
  • Keep accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to management.
  • Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Evaluate processes regularly for improvement opportunities.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to meet technical specifications.
  • Align production with sales and logistics to ensure timely delivery.
  • Compliance with Industry Standards
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, industry, and governmental regulations.
  • Stay updated on best practices and incorporate innovative manufacturing technologies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Min 3 years experience, preferably within furniture fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership skills and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €37,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
