We are currently seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Yard Person to join our team and help manage our busy yard operations.

Role Overview:

As a Yard Person, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our depot. Your responsibilities will range from operating machinery and handling new arrivals to assisting our sales team and documenting stock. This is a varied, hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machinery Operation: Safely drive and operate forklifts and telehandlers (teleporters) to move equipment around the yard.
• Stock Management: Unload and offload newly arrived plant machinery and equipment from transport vehicles safely.
• Digital Logging: Take clear, high-quality photographs of new stock and equipment arrivals for inventory and marketing purposes.
• Sales Support: Assist the sales team by preparing machines for viewing, showing equipment to visiting customers, and helping with basic enquiries.
• Yard Maintenance: Ensure the yard remains clean, organized, safe, and presentable at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience operating a forklift and/or telehandler (teleporter) is highly desirable (tickets/licences are a distinct advantage).
• Comfortable using a smartphone or digital camera to take clear pictures of equipment.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly manner when interacting with customers and colleagues.
• Physically fit and capable of handling a hands-on, outdoor yard environment.
• A full clean B (Car) Driving Licence is an advantage, but it is not strictly necessary for the role.
• A proactive attitude with a strong focus on workplace safety.

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
