About The Position
Position Location: Port Pirie
Position Status: Part Time FTE 0.60
Closing Date for Applications: 10th Janauary 2025
The Supported Residential Care service provides accommodation and support for children and/or young people who are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive and cannot live at home with their families, or with foster or kinship carers.
Working within a therapeutic framework we address the previous trauma, abuse and/or neglect that young people in our care may have experienced. Our service promotes positive attitudes and lifestyle choices with the aim of improving confidence, self-esteem, social and living skills.
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is our focus, and we are committed to providing the best possible care for them.
A Psychological Suitability Assessment is part of how we ensure we employ people who are suited to this important role. The Assessment will be discussed further if you are shortlisted to the interview stage.

Skills and Experiences:
You will:
- Have the ability to work with children and young people with high and complex needs.
- Be prepared to work shift work, including over nights and weekends.
Essential
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Satisfactory clearance of a Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
- Satisfactory clearance of a National Criminal History Check (within the last 3 months).
- Certificate IV (or above) in Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate.
- Current Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes) Certificate.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certificate.
- Understanding the impact of abuse and trauma, including brain development, attachment disorder and trauma related behaviour.
