Our team partners directly with client organizations to improve employee health outcomes, reduce workplace injuries, and support regulatory compliance.

Position Overview

WCMS is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse IV (RN) to support a large manufacturing client in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a highly autonomous, on-site weekend role supporting a stand-alone occupational health clinic.

This position functions as the lead nurse during weekend operations, responsible for clinical care, emergency response, and clinic administration in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment and triage for work-related injuries and illnesses
  • Conduct OSHA-required surveillance exams and screenings
  • Perform fit-for-duty evaluations and return-to-work assessments
  • Respond to on-site medical emergencies and support Emergency Response Team (ERT) efforts
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and clinic records (EMR systems)
  • Support disability case management and injury investigations
  • Collaborate with safety teams on incident reviews and workplace safety initiatives
  • Coordinate with external healthcare providers and internal stakeholders
  • Deliver health education, wellness initiatives, and new employee orientations
  • Maintain clinic organization, supplies, and operational readiness

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
  • Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience (occupational health, ER, or acute care preferred)
  • Strong triage and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Occupational Health or related certifications
  • Experience with OSHA compliance, ADA, ergonomics, or workplace safety programs
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation & Benefits

  • $50–$55 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM every Saturday and Sunday
  • Setting: On-site occupational health clinic within a manufacturing facility
  • Work Type: Full-time, weekend coverage
  • Duration: Permanent Role
  • Autonomous role; primary nurse on-site during scheduled shifts
