ABOUT THE JOB
The Accounting Assistant is a bilingual (French/English) detail-oriented position. This role is responsible for supporting the finance function by handling a wide range of accounting tasks, with the exception of accounts payable data entry and payroll. The Accounting Assistant will be organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where accuracy and confidentiality are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare and post journal entries.
· Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
· Generate and send customer invoices.
· Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
· Record customer payments and maintain accurate AR records.
· Perform daily bank reconciliations.
· Track and report cash flow as needed.
· Process vendor invoices into Epicor ERP
· Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs in CAD and wires in other currencies
· Send remittances and review vendor statements
· Payroll Support:
· Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
· Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
· Provide administrative support to the finance team.
· Assist with audits and special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 1–3 years of accounting experience.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
· Proficiency in accounting software (Epicor Kinetic) and MS Excel.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
