Job Summary
We are seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk to join the accounting team within our construction company . The ideal candidate will excel in customer service and have an attention to detail and sound organizational skills. Previous experience working in accounts receivable and within the construction industry is an asset.

Duties

• Sorting and matching of packing slips with invoices, inputting the invoices into the computer system and posting for check runs.
• Reconcile A/P statements
• Collection of accounts payable
• Solve any discrepancies on invoices
• Maintaining up to date all insurance and safety information on our subcontractors
• Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.
• Investigate payment problems while following corporate A/P policies and procedures.
• Work with project managers and purchaser to ensure that all purchases have a purchase order number in the system; validate invoices against purchase orders
• Manage supplier inquiries regarding billing issues and provide exceptional customer service through effective communication and phone etiquette.
• Represent company in a positive way
• Handle irate customers in a diplomatic manner
• Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure smooth financial operations and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a related financial role is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and identify discrepancies.
• Excellent math skills for accurate calculations and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with financial services and accounting principles is a plus.
• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication skills with a focus on customer service and phone etiquette.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
