We offer a variety of services, including day programs, camps, and overnight respite care.

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated general support staff to join our day program team. In this role, you will provide support to adults with various physical and mental disabilities in a variety of settings, including our day program center, community outings, and various activities. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• ·Assist individuals with personal care tasks, mobility, and daily living activities as required.
• Implement individualized support plans designed to enhance each participant's independence and social skills.
• Collaborate with team to plan and implement daily activities and programs.
• Create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where participants can engage in recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
• Employ positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors effectively.
• Maintain a calm and patient approach when handling difficult situations.
• Must have training in Crisis Prevention Intervention and CPR-C training
• Maintain open and regular communication with program participants' families or caregivers to provide updates on progress and address concerns.
• Document and maintain accurate records of participant progress, incidents, and achievements.
• Always ensure the safety and well-being of program participants.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School diploma; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• Experience working with adults with special needs or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with special needs.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors effectively.
• First Aid, CPI and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (criminal background check).
• Show up daily with a positive attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
