Precious Flower Healthcare is a company that provides respite care services to adults with various physical and mental disabilities. Our mission is to help improve the lives of those in our care through compassionate care and open communication. We offer a variety of services, including day programs, camps, and overnight respite care.
Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated general support staff to join our day program team. In this role, you will provide support to adults with various physical and mental disabilities in a variety of settings, including our day program center, community outings, and various activities. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- ·Assist individuals with personal care tasks, mobility, and daily living activities as required.
- Implement individualized support plans designed to enhance each participant's independence and social skills.
- Collaborate with team to plan and implement daily activities and programs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where participants can engage in recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
- Employ positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors effectively.
- Maintain a calm and patient approach when handling difficult situations.
- Must have training in Crisis Prevention Intervention and CPR-C training
- Maintain open and regular communication with program participants' families or caregivers to provide updates on progress and address concerns.
- Document and maintain accurate records of participant progress, incidents, and achievements.
- Always ensure the safety and well-being of program participants.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School diploma; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
- Experience working with adults with special needs or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with special needs.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors effectively.
- First Aid, CPI and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (criminal background check).
- Show up daily with a positive attitude.
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
