About the role
We are looking for an Advisor Trade Finance to manage our trade finance activities. The role involves ensuring that the commercial services contract-to-cash process is secure and managed efficiently, directly helping maximize cash flow for the business.
Reporting to the Supervisor Trade Finance, you will:
Execute the Letter of Credit (LC) process from the LC draft to LC Swift vetting to ensure clean LCs are available for shipments on a timely basis.
Support LC document presentations via the accurate creation of financial documents in SAP.
Liaise with banks to secure the best confirmation rates for confirmed LCs and to resolve LC discrepancies and bank fee issues.
Monitor the prompt issuance of ATL (Authorization to Load) and accurate reporting of ATL/LC status to ports and the scheduling team.
Enhance customer credit monitoring report for various BUs.
Proactively identify business initiatives and automation improvements to enhance business value and experience for internal and external stakeholders.
Perform data analysis and reporting activities in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide support to junior team members to promote learning and business engagement.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures with a continuous improvement mindset.
Act as a key point of contact to improve communication and processes between Commercial Services and various stakeholders such as Treasury, Credit, and Sales teams.
Supports the execution of Trade Finance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
Apply professional knowledge to adhere to documentation process and performance clauses (SLA’s) to ensure customer and contract obligations are fulfilled.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in trade finance regulations and industry standards in collaboration with other functions (e.g., Treasury, Credit, etc.)
Support the implementation of knowledge management systems to capture up-to-date process flows and Standard Operating Procedures.
Contribute to and support our MERP transition and implementation.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years of commercial and/or finance experience in a large multinational with previous experience working with shipping agents and shipping documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to reach out and build collaborative stakeholder relationships across different levels.
Strong experience and background in the Commodity Industry, preferably in bulk commodities.
International trade documentation, Supply Chain, and Trade Finance knowledge are essential. Proficiency in Incoterms and UCP600.
Ability to work well in a matrix environment and be a good team player.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
