This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team in Pirates Cove as we continue to expand our after-school childcare service in Courtown Harbour. We offer afterschool service to primary school children during school terms and full time childcare during school holidays.

_ Main Responsibilities:_

· Collect the children from school and escort them safely, either by walking or driving, to Pirates Cove Childcare.

· Supervise and actively engage children in a wide range of play, social, and creative activities.

· Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate programmes that promote children’s well-being, learning, and social development.

· Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development.

· Ensure the safety and welfare of all children in your care, adhering to the Children First: National Guidance and Tusla Regulations.

· Maintain daily records such as attendance, incident reports, and accident logs.

· Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians and school staff.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and assist with risk assessments.

· Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and ongoing professional development.

· Follow Pirates Cove Childcare’s policies and procedures at all times, including Child Protection, Code of Behaviour, and Inclusion Policy.

The Ideal Candidate:

· Have practical experience working with children in a group setting.

· Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with children and adults

· Hold a Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education or a relevant childcare qualification

· Hold a full, clean driving licence

· An ability to work on their own initiative

· Sincere and genuine love of children

· Ideally, have a First Aid certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From €15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
