What you’ll be doing:
As a key member of the Area Community Risk team, the Area Planning & Fire Behaviour Officer provides expert advice to the Manager and Districts to support Area wide bush fire hazard mitigation activities and fire fighting operations. You will play a crucial role developing prescribed burn plans and supporting the implementation of critical hazard reduction burns across five fire Districts.

Our ideal candidate
You will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, be highly self-motivated, and able to prioritise your own workload whilst working cross-functionally to achieve Area outcomes. With a keen interest in weather and fire behaviour, you will apply your strong critical thinking skills to analyse and interpret complex data, identify trends and communicate insights that support informed decision-making and contribute to proactive fire mitigation strategies.
