Carambola Ltd. are recruiting a Part-time, Term-Time position 20 – 25hrs per week, in the Galway/Mayo region.

The Operations relief/support person plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operational functions across the school’s division. This role ensures the smooth execution of services by providing relief cover and support to our growing school network. You will also give support to staff, help maintain compliance documentation, and assisting with delivery and troubleshooting tasks. A company vehicle will be provided for travel between sites as required.

Duties include:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide relief support across operational sites, school and HUB locations
• Support and report directly to the KAM and Schools Operations Manager
• Maintain and update Environmental Health Officer (EHO) checklists
• Complete and monitor staff training checklists
• Assist with deliveries and stock movement as needed
• Collect and input paper menus into digital systems
• Assist with food waste tracking and support initiatives
• Use tablets to log and manage menu entries
• Provide support during sales tastings and presentations
• Support hot food staff training and onboarding processes
• Conduct manual handling practical reviews with team members
• Assist with general business needs and administrative tasks
• Troubleshoot operational issues on-site
• Drive the company van to various locations as required

Skills and ExperienceRequired:

• Full, clean Irish driving licence (for van use)
• Experience in an operations, food service, or field support role
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Confidence using digital devices such as tablets for data entry
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices
• Able to work independently and take initiative

Preferred but not essential:

• Previous experience in education catering or school operations
• Manual handling training certification
• Experience supporting staff training or onboarding

Other Information

• Travel between multiple sites required – company van provided
• Occasional early starts or later finishes may be required based on delivery schedules or training sessions

Days of work are Monday to Friday and are based on the school calendar.
Hours of work are approximately 8am -1pm.
