Asset Support Technician

The Roading Asset Technician is responsible for supporting the effective management and maintenance of roading assets in the Taupo maintenance contract. This includes collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data, assisting with planning and prioritization of maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role contributes to ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable transport infrastructure for the community.
Data Collection and Management:
- Conduct field inspections and surveys to collect data on road conditions and asset performance.
- Input, validate, and maintain data in asset management systems.
- Analyze and interpret asset data to identify trends, risks, and maintenance needs.
- Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and budgets based on asset performance and lifecycle.
- Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to ensure effective implementation of maintenance plans.
- Monitor and report on the progress of maintenance and renewal projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and organizational policies.
- Conduct regular audits of roading assets to maintain safety and performance standards.
- Prepare reports and presentations on asset conditions and performance for stakeholders.
- Provide technical advice and support to internal and external teams.
- Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies during all activities.
- Identify and address potential hazards associated with road assets.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, or related field.
- Experience in asset management, roading maintenance, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in asset management software and GIS tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of roading legislation and best practices.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
