In the dynamic environment of Via Amsterdam, the Assistant Hotel Manager plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient hotel operation. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations, including staff management, guest satisfaction, and facility management. With close to a 1000 beds in various room categories, a restaurant & bar, game area, cinema room and more, we operate in the larger segment of youth hotels.

In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional guest experience - the Via way. You are the main point of contact for the Head of Departments of Housekeeping, Front Office (incl. Duty Managers), Bar & Restaurant, Kitchen, and Maintenance.

You will be responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling staff, as well as conducting performance evaluations and addressing any performance issues that may arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of facilities, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and efficiently. You will also support the team in managing guest relations and ensuring a positive experience for all guests.

• Ability to effectively manage a large team (80+ staff members) and prioritize tasks to meet operational goals.

• A flexible attitude, with a hands-on approach. It's in our Via DNA to provide supportive leadership and to be present.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Around 1-2 years working experience in a similar role in a smaller hotel operation or experience as an Operations Manager in a larger hotel operation.

• Proficient in English, both verbal and in writing. Dutch is a strong plus.
