About Us
Monks Ballyvaughan is a boutique hotel, restaurant, and bar located on the Wild Atlantic Way, offering fresh seafood, warm hospitality, and breathtaking views of Galway Bay. We are now looking for an experienced, motivated, and guest-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team and help lead our front of house operation to the highest standards.

Role Overview
As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring excellent service standards are consistently delivered. You will support the management team, supervise front of house staff, and help create a welcoming and efficient environment for both guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operation of the restaurant and ensure smooth service at all times.
• Lead, support, and motivate the front of house team during service.
• Ensure guests receive a warm welcome and outstanding customer service throughout their visit.
• Assist with staff training and support the development of team members.
• Monitor service standards, presentation, and cleanliness across the restaurant.
• Handle guest queries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and efficient manner.
• Work closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and shift organisation when required.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety, and company procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within hospitality is essential.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• High standards of professionalism, organisation, and guest care.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• A positive attitude and a hands-on approach to service.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ballyvaughan, County Clare: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• restaurant supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
