The Role: Assistant Merchandiser

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dynamic Assistant Merchandiser to join our fast-paced team. You will be the crucial link between design, production, and vendors—ensuring every product moves seamlessly from concept to customer.

What You Will Do

  • Merchandising Strategy – Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customer expectations with company goals.
  • Stock & Pricing – Monitor stock movement and execute markdowns, promotions, price changes, and clear-outs.
  • Vendor Coordination – Work closely with vendors to execute and process orders, ensuring smooth and timely transitions from development to production.
  • Production Follow-up – Track production progress with vendors, maintain TNA (Time & Action) reports, and ensure timely shipment handovers with accurate documentation and PO numbers.
  • Factory Visits – Visit 2–3 assigned factories daily. Collect accurate production status updates (cutting, sewing, finishing, packing). Verify progress against committed timelines.
  • TNA (Time & Action Plan) Management – Prepare TNA for each order in coordination with the merchandiser. Follow up with factories to ensure each stage is on track and escalate delays or potential risks immediately.
  • Production Monitoring & Reporting – Track daily output and highlight variances vs. plan. Ensure factories follow agreed quality and delivery schedules. Submit daily visit reports and consolidated weekly production updates.
  • Coordination & Follow-up – Work closely with factory production teams to resolve bottlenecks. Coordinate with merchandiser/sourcing head on urgent issues. Ensure sampling, trims, and fabric approvals are followed up on time.
  • Sample Management – Coordinate with vendors for photo shoots, PPS (Pre-Production Samples), and any additional sampling needs.
  • Data & Reporting – Maintain order-wise FTP & GPT data, update merchandising data, and verify POs before execution.
  • Communication & Decision-Making – Collaborate across teams, listen actively, and make informed decisions that keep the process on track.

Work Model

  • 6 days working – Monday to Saturday
  • Location: Tirupur

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in merchandising, preferably in apparel or textiles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent listening and presentation abilities.
