The Role: Assistant Merchandiser
We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dynamic Assistant Merchandiser to join our fast-paced team. You will be the crucial link between design, production, and vendors—ensuring every product moves seamlessly from concept to customer.
What You Will Do
- Merchandising Strategy – Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customer expectations with company goals.
- Stock & Pricing – Monitor stock movement and execute markdowns, promotions, price changes, and clear-outs.
- Vendor Coordination – Work closely with vendors to execute and process orders, ensuring smooth and timely transitions from development to production.
- Production Follow-up – Track production progress with vendors, maintain TNA (Time & Action) reports, and ensure timely shipment handovers with accurate documentation and PO numbers.
- Factory Visits – Visit 2–3 assigned factories daily. Collect accurate production status updates (cutting, sewing, finishing, packing). Verify progress against committed timelines.
- TNA (Time & Action Plan) Management – Prepare TNA for each order in coordination with the merchandiser. Follow up with factories to ensure each stage is on track and escalate delays or potential risks immediately.
- Production Monitoring & Reporting – Track daily output and highlight variances vs. plan. Ensure factories follow agreed quality and delivery schedules. Submit daily visit reports and consolidated weekly production updates.
- Coordination & Follow-up – Work closely with factory production teams to resolve bottlenecks. Coordinate with merchandiser/sourcing head on urgent issues. Ensure sampling, trims, and fabric approvals are followed up on time.
- Sample Management – Coordinate with vendors for photo shoots, PPS (Pre-Production Samples), and any additional sampling needs.
- Data & Reporting – Maintain order-wise FTP & GPT data, update merchandising data, and verify POs before execution.
- Communication & Decision-Making – Collaborate across teams, listen actively, and make informed decisions that keep the process on track.
Work Model
- 6 days working – Monday to Saturday
- Location: Tirupur
Qualifications
- Proven experience in merchandising, preferably in apparel or textiles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent listening and presentation abilities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of merchandising practices and production processes.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for order tracking and reporting.
- Sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced D2C environment.
