Job purpose
At Ardmac we pride ourselves on being the contractor of choice for great clients and the workplace of choice for great people. We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager for a Cleanroom project in Chartres, France, which we are delivering in collaboration with our partner Dagard. The Assistant Project Manager will manage the site team, work closely with our supply chain partners, ensure excellent safety and quality standards, and ultimately deliver the project on time and within budget to the clients’ satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for:
- Planning and programming of work
- Reviewing tenders with operations team as necessary
- Adhering to Safety First Guiding Principles
- Ensuring production and commercial procedures are fully implemented
- Implementation of all Company safety, health, environmental and quality procedures ensuring statutory compliance
- Develop the construction schedule with the Site Manager, ensuring necessary resources are in place and establishing sequence and timing of operations for the completion of the work
- Ensuring all relevant information is collated, reviewed and actioned at regular contract review meetings. Attending client / consultant meetings, preparing and responding to the requirements of the meeting.
- Ensuring delays are properly recorded under the contract to ensure contractual entitlement.
- Understand and manage project contract and amendments
- Recruitment and management of site personnel in line with local regulations and practices
- Champion quality standards on all contracts via culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure procedures are in place for management of labour, sub-contractor, materials and plant costs
- Form and maintain professional relationships with Client, Project and Design teams and Supply Chain
- Handover of all necessary documents and activities in place for an on time and orderly handover
- Manage soft landing process
Qualifications and Experience
High level of ability and advanced knowledge of:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on construction sites
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and technologies
- Must have fluent French and fluent English
- Knowledge of commercial strategy and innovation
- Knowledge and understanding of subcontract/material orders and procurement
- Experience in preparing and interpreting financial reports.
- Ability to manage a number of projects at a time
- Knowledge of health and safety, quality procedures and construction industry regulations
- Experience of construction or installation in a pharmaceutical environment desirable
- Understanding of French building regulations
- Knowledge of local supply chain partners.
