We are hiring a Family Law Lawyer with 2 to 6 years of experience. Van Looyen and Fallon is a busy family law practice looking for a motivated and hard-working candidate with great people skills, advocacy, and writing skills to join our team. The role will include the following tasks:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of agreements.
• Preparation of family court documents.
• Representing clients in family court and alternative dispute resolution settings.
• Maintaining timely and effective communication with clients.
• Initial blend of carriage of own files and providing file support to other lawyers at the Firm, with ability to manage own case load over time and depending on experience level.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Must be called to the Bar in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
• Must have a minimum of two years of family law or relevant experience as a lawyer within Ontario.
• Possess an LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized Canadian institution with strong academic credentials.
• Candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Must have excellent computer skills and have experience regularly using Outlook and Adobe or similar programs.
• Experience using legal software, such as LEAP, Divorce Mate, and PC Law.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
• The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in family law practice.

What We Offer:

• Base annual salary is commensurate with experience, between $70,000 to $90,000, with an additional commission structure after six (6) months.
