Automated Printing Specialist

Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926 and is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly opening for a n Automated Printing Specialist reporting to the Production Supervisor.

The purpose of the printing role is to ensure that all jobs processed are printed in a manner that meets the company’s standards while also meeting production/efficiency expectations. The printing operator will set-up, operate and adjust all printer machines in accordance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

General

  • Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
  • Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
  • Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
  • Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
  • Dispose of scrap into proper containers
  • Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
  • Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
  • Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands
  • Duties as assigned per Production Supervisor

Printing Functions

  • Startup/shutdown of printing/robot cell
  • Maintaining material supplies to machines
  • Packaging and labeling of Finished Goods
  • Stretch wrapping and storage of product
  • Ensures printing is running as per production schedule
  • Responding to machine alarms (Kase and robot cell)
  • Complete Quality Checks (Visuals)
  • Ensure Quality Checks are documented in SPC and signed off on at set interval
  • Scanning WIP into Inventory Management System
  • Documentation of production paperwork
  • Troubleshoots issues with printing machine and makes basic repairs
  • Daily and weekly preventative maintenance of printers
  • Changeover of machines for different products
  • Line set up per Docushare
  • Document machine issues in OPS tracker

Skills

  • Basic math skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Material handling equipment including but not limited to manual pallet jacks and bar code scanners

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year printing experience preferred

Education
High school diploma is preferred

  • 12 hour shift
  • Night shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed
