As part of our Automation team, you will contribute directly to solutions that support energy optimization, green technologies, aquaculture, and marine systems worldwide.

A Glimpse into the Role:
As Automation Engineer, you will become part of a global Automation team with 8 colleagues Denmark and 6 colleagues in China. Automation is a key strategic focus at DESMI, and you will play an important role in further developing and strengthening our automation solutions across our system portfolio. You will work with both standardized and customer-specific solutions and be involved across the full lifecycle – from design and development to testing and final documentation. Your main responsibilities include:

- Ensuring that automation solutions can be fully handed over to Production and Service
You will have responsibility for your own projects in close collaboration with Project Managers and will have direct contact with customers, suppliers, and service technicians when required.
Your Next Opportunity starts here:
Automation plays a key role in DESMI’s ambition to expand from component supplier to system solution provider – both offshore and onshore. In this role, you will contribute to solutions that support CO₂ reduction, energy efficiency, and reliable system operation for customers worldwide. You will be part of a strong and growing Automation organization and work closely with both Project Managers, Production, and Service.
We imagine that you:
- Have experience with pumps, frequency converters, and technical project environments
- Have held responsibility within automation, electrical, software, or mechanical deliveries
- Have extensive knowledge of PLC systems, preferably Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal
- Are proficient in industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet)

- Are proactive, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks
- Are service-minded and collaborate easily across disciplines
- Are fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Live within commuting distance of Nørresundby or are willing to relocate
- After the trial period, partial work-from-home may be possible by agreement, but your primary workplace will be the office in Nørresundby
A background as industrial electrician, electrical engineer, automation technologist, marine engineer with electrical background, or similar would be relevant. As several projects are related to defense applications, standard security clearance will be required.
