Position Overview

The Automation Technician is essential for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of automated systems at our pharmaceutical distribution center. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing automated machinery and equipment to enhance workflow efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The Automation Technician will work closely with engineering and operations teams to maintain the highest levels of productivity and performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on automated systems and equipment, including conveyor, robotic, and material handling systems.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze data, and implement improvements to optimize automation processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation procedures, operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to assist in installing and commissioning new automated systems.
  • Conduct system diagnostics, identify malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards applicable to pharmaceutical distribution operations.
  • Assist in training staff on the operation and troubleshooting of automated systems.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies required for automation maintenance and repairs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and efficiency.


Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in automation, controls, or electrical maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming, control systems, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and implement effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices related to automation and pharmaceutical operations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to work in varied conditions, including standing for long periods and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to support operations.
