Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The Bakery Assistant will support daily bakery operations, assist with food preparation, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Ideal candidates will have a passion for baking, food industry experience, and excellent customer service skills.

Duties

• Assist in preparing baked goods, including mixing, shaping, and decorating cakes and pastries
• Support cake decorating tasks to create visually appealing confections for customers
• Handle food preparation tasks such as slicing, packaging, and organizing ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and work areas in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety of all products
• Support the packaging of baked goods for retail display or customer orders
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, answering questions about products and ingredients
• Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and ingredients as needed
• Follow all kitchen safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred
• Skills in cake decorating and food presentation are highly desirable
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, baking, and food safety standards is essential
• Experience with food handling, packaging, and maintaining cleanliness in a kitchen setting is required
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Kitchen experience within the food industry is advantageous
• A passion for baking and creating high-quality baked goods

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60-$23.53 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Concord, ON L4K 5W7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• bakery: 2 years (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (preferred)
