Lead the Launch – Bar Manager (New Over-21s Venue in Ballyvolane)

We’re gearing up to open the doors to the newly redeveloped Fox & Hounds – a premium, over-21s bar located in the heart of Ballyvolane, Cork City. We’re now seeking a passionate and experienced Bar Manager to lead our front-of-house team, drive service standards, and help establish the venue’s reputation from day one.

With food service set to launch in the coming months, this role will evolve into full operational responsibility across both bar and food functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day bar operations and staff management
• Recruit, train, and lead a dynamic front-of-house team
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service and presentation
• Manage stock control, ordering, inventory, and cost control
• Maintain compliance with all licensing, health & safety, and hygiene regulations
• Develop and execute promotions, seasonal campaigns, and local engagement initiatives
• Prepare for and support the rollout of the food service offering
• Work closely with senior management on business performance and planning
• Lead by example on the floor during busy periods

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Bar Manager or senior supervisory role
• Proven team leadership and operational management skills
• Strong working knowledge of licensing laws, stock systems, and customer service standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Comfortable with flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends
• Previous experience with food operations is an advantage (not essential)
