Description:
Building Maintenance

Demonstrate ability to undertake programmed and ad hoc maintenance works on Council’s facilities and infrastructure in accordance with weekly works programs as directed.
Ability to arrange and plan materials in a proactive manner to enable efficiencies with respect to work programs.
Undertake audits of Councils assets including assisting with flood and drainage pump audits.
Undertake pump maintenance works to ensure failure in times of flood is minimized.
Contractor management and supervision of small projects.
Completion of quality documentation as per instruction from the Coordinator Facilities or Team Leader Facilities Maintenance.
Essential Services - Conduct thorough safety inspections and testing of electrical equipment in various Moira Shire council assets and infrastructure settings, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3760).
Participate in afterhours call out phone and standby duty roster.

Skills and Experiences:
To Apply for this role, please include a cover lettter addressing the following Key Selection Criteria:

Key Selection Criteria:
Degree or certificate/diploma and/or extensive experience in the areas of building maintenance or asset construction.
Demonstrated experience with a range of equipment used in building and asset maintenance including but not limited to:

A basic understanding of building systems, safety regulations, and relevant standards.
Operation of hand tools/workshop tools used in building repairs & maintenance.
The ability to perform basic plumbing maintenance, repairs on taps, basins and toilets.
Perform basic carpentry including hanging and replacing doors, changing locks on doors and windows, applying and repairing paint and plaster & perform minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.

Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and policies.
Present a positive customer focused approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders by being well presented and having outstanding organisational and time management skills.
