Business Controller

About the Role
As a Business Controller in the Freight Forwarding division, you will be responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will lead budgeting and forecasting processes, analyze financial data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures and improve operational efficiency. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

How You Will Contribute

• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against forecasts.
• Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis and actionable insights.
• Conduct profitability and cost analysis across services, routes, and customers.
• Collaborate with operations and procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support business decisions with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, tools, and reporting processes.
• Partner with other departments to gather insights and support cross-functional initiatives.
Participate in audits and contribute to risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or CPA/CMA preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience as a Business Controller, ideally in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, reporting standards, and accounting practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools; experience with automation is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 20–30% across the region.
• Fluency in English; additional languages, especially French, are a plus.
