Wood Supply is the heartbeat of Stora Enso’s raw material flow. As part of our ongoing digital and AI transformation, you will support Business Controlling in turning operational challenges into data - driven solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and performance management.
You will work across the process areas of Operations, Wood Trade & Steering, and the Forest Owner Business, identifying real business needs, analyzing underlying data, and helping to develop AI and automation - ready use cases. The role gives you the opportunity to take ownership of concrete analytical tasks and contribute to how we use data and technology to create smarter ways of working.
We are looking to fill three trainee positions , preferably one in Sweden, one in Finland, and one in Latvia , but the setup is fully flexible. You can work from any of our Wood Supply locations or remotely in a hybrid arrangement, depending on what best supports your work and development.
Key responsibilities include:
Identifying operational and controlling-rel ated pain points and translating them into prototypes or preliminary AI concepts
Working with data from SAP, Power BI , and operational systems to clean, combine, and analyze data sets
Building and maintaining dashboards , reports and analytical summaries that enable better decision - making
Support experimentation with generative AI tools, such as Copilot, by documenting use cases, examples, and lessons learned for Business Controlling.
Supporting Business Controlling in financial and operational reporting, preparing analyses and presentations, and contributing to projects in cost efficiency and performance management
Who are we looking for?
You are an analytical and curious student with a strong interest in data, technology, and how AI can improve real-world operations. You can structure complex problems, translate insights into clear conclusions, and communicate them effectively. You work independently, take initiative, and collaborate confidently with both operational managers and technical experts. Above all, you are proactive, solution-oriented , and eager to apply your skills in a dynamic business environment.
Skills, we expect you t o have:
Ongoing studies in Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, IT, or a similar field
Experience working with data and analytical tools (Excel, PowerBI or similar tools)
Interest or practical exposure to AI tools, large language models, or data analytics
Fluency in English (Swedish or Finnish is an advantage)
Ability to work full time for approximately three months during the summer
Nice to have:
Understanding of supply chains, logistics , forestry, manufacturing, or industrial operations
Experience with SAP, SQL, Python, or visualization tools
Previous exposure to machine learning, automation, or prompt engineering
