He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
As a Business Support Team Lead, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Infrastructure Business Unit runs smoothly. You'll provide professional business support across the unit, helping to develop and implement a strong operational framework.
This is a leadership role where you’ll mentor and support a team, ensuring they deliver high-quality business and administrative support across our regional and metro teams. You’ll also be a key safety leader—championing best practices and ensuring we "walk the safety talk."
Your role will include:
Leading, mentoring, and developing the Business Support team
Overseeing workload distribution and ensuring business continuity
Managing key business functions, including financial reporting, procurement, and compliance
Supporting managers with safety, training, and operational processes
Ensuring our administrative systems and processes run efficiently

Leadership experience – 3-5 years in a team leadership or business support role
Strong administrative and financial skills – experience in procurement, payroll, and financial reporting
Excellent communication skills – able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Tech-savviness – proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems like SAP or Maximo (desirable)
Industry knowledge – experience in infrastructure, construction, or roading (desirable)
Commitment to safety and wellbeing – ensuring compliance and fostering a strong safety culture
You must also hold a valid NZ driver’s licence and be able to travel regionally as required.
