About Us

Monks Ballyvaughan is a boutique hotel, restaurant, and bar located in the heart of the Burren on the Wild Atlantic Way. Known for our warm hospitality, fresh seafood, and stunning sea views, we welcome both local and international guests throughout the year. We are now seeking a professional, hands-on Restaurant Manager to join our team and support the smooth daily operation of the property.

Role Overview

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the hotel, restaurant, and bar, helping to ensure excellent guest service and strong operational standards across all departments. You will work closely with the F&B Manager, supporting the food and beverage operation while also overseeing the wider guest experience and assisting other departments as required.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong hospitality experience, a proactive attitude, and the ability to lead by example in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation of the hotel, restaurant, and bar to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Work closely with the F&B Manager and assist with the running of food and beverage service.
  • Lead by example on the floor, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures across the property.
  • Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support and supervise team members during shifts, ensuring standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate with reception, housekeeping, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure smooth communication and service delivery.
  • Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and service standards throughout the property.
  • Assist with staff training and support new team members where needed.
  • Help ensure compliance with health and safety, hygiene, and company procedures.
  • Take responsibility for the property in the absence of senior management when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality is essential.
  • A strong background in food and beverage operations would be a significant advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Strong focus on guest satisfaction and operational standards.
  • Reliable, flexible, and professional at all times.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €1.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ballyvaughan, County Clare: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
