SUMMARY OF JOB
- Duties Include but are not limited to: performing carpentry skills in the construction, installation, and repair of homes and businesses in the area and to assist in emergency response to fire, flood, inclement weather events as needed.
- Must be available to work on call after hours and weekends when necessary.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Follow Project Managers scopes (read and interpret building blueprints, sketches and drawings)
- Work with great hand dexterity and attention to detail while demonstrating good knowledge of wood materials and other carpentry materials
- Fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, windows, molding, hardware
- Measuring, cutting and joining materials made of wood or wood substitutes
- Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
- Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
- Inspect residences and commercial properties and conduct repairs or maintenance while representing the company’s best interests
- Demonstrates public and customer service excellence whenever on job sites, travelling in a company vehicle, and while at company’s properties
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures as the specific job requires
- Work alongside other team members successfully and working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards
- Occasional tear out tasks including removal and disposal of debris and ensuring
cleanliness and safety on the job site at all times
- Ability to maintain physical condition and endurance
- Maintain the Winmar professional level of vendor courtesy and customer service
- Demonstrate follow-through and problem-solving skills
- Sufficient reading and writing skills (English) to complete required administrative functions for job costing and administrative purposes
- General knowledge of property restoration including but not limited to emergency situations
- Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a clean driving record (must be able to provide Ministry of Ontario driver’s abstract)
- Ability and interest to acquire further training and courses as deemed necessary by immediate Supervisor

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Experience:
- Restoration: 5 years (preferred)
- Carpentry: 10 years (preferred)
