About the Role:

As a Front Desk Manager of Markham Bowl, you will be the first person to greet customers and guide them through their experience at Markham Bowl in addition to leading the rest of the team through the shift, providing guidance, support, and motivation. This role holds a great deal of responsibility and requires exemplary customer service skills. Our Front Desk Managers and Supervisors need to be capable of working in multiple areas of our business to provide assistance to other team members if needed while still monitoring the Front Desk and handling any level of business we may have.

Availability:

  • Part-Time
  • Weekend Evenings - Closing Shifts (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays)

Requirements:

  • Managerial Experience of 2+ years
  • Customer Service Experience of 2+ years
  • Transportation to and from work
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification
  • Valid Food Safety / Food Handler's Certification
  • Ability to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing a computer system to set up bowling lanes, bill out customers, create invoices, and provide accurate quotes for lane bookings, parties, fundraisers, events, etc.
  • Exemplary customer service skills – being able to address customers questions, requests, and complaints either in person or over the phone. Developing and maintaining good relationships with regular customers and/or leagues
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to resolve minor conflicts either with team members or with customers
  • Booking reservations, birthday parties, corporate events, team events, and fundraisers with all the necessary details and deposits required
  • Communicating effectively to delegate tasks appropriately and answer questions team members or customers may have
  • Working independently at our front desk with regard to bookings, walk-ins, and greeting customers, as well as ability to work with a team in our snack bar
  • Providing guidance, support, and motivation for other employees to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Following cleaning procedures, restocking supplies, inventory tracking
  • Must be comfortable doing minor fixes on bowling machinery if needed
  • Training team members as needed for daily duties, the snack bar, etc.
  • Implementing marketing strategies and company goals that are provided by Management
  • Ensuring compliance with company policy, safety standards, and legal regulations
  • Communicating with upper management about important updates regarding business matters and team members

Beneficial to have:

  • Knowledge of bowling (i.e., scoring, how to bowl, safety, 10pin vs 5pin etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic cooking skills
