Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.85/hour + super and penalty rates

Rosters Available:

• Wednesday: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
• Thursday: 7:00 am - 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
• Friday: 7:00 am - 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
• Saturday - Sunday: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

About the role:
We’re seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team at our aged care facility in The Basin. In this hands-on role, you’ll help create a warm and enjoyable mealtime experience for our residents by assisting with food preparation, serving meals, and supporting the kitchen team. Every day, your contribution will bring comfort, smiles, and nourishment to those who call our facility home.

What this role involves:

• Assisting with food preparation, including salads, sandwiches, and texture-modified meals
• Providing excellent customer service by serving residents’ meals and snacks
• Re-stocking supplies as needed, including after meal periods
• Dishwashing and cleaning kitchen and dining areas
• Setting tables, plating meals, and supporting the chef with general kitchen duties

Skills and Experiences:
The ideal candidate will have:

• Have previous experience in food preparation and/or customer service
• Possess previous contract catering experience (desirable)
• Work effectively as part of a team to meet resident needs and service expectations
• Demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills
• Be flexible and able to adapt to busy and changing environments
• Be willing to undergo a Police Check and undertake a flu vaccination
