Catering Event Chef - (BOH Captain)

Location: Off-site events throughout Rhode Island & New England

Job Type: Part-Time to Full-Time / Seasonal (Peak Season: May–October)

Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and some holidays

Pay: $22–$30 per hour

Gratuities: Average $50–$200 per week

The Role

We’re looking for experienced Event Chefs / Catering Captains who thrive in fast-paced event environments.

You’ll prepare and execute menus for events ranging from intimate dinners to 200+ guest weddings, while helping lead kitchen teams during service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plate dishes for catered events
  • Lead and support kitchen staff during event service
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Work with event coordinators and service teams to keep events running smoothly
  • Manage kitchen timing during high-volume service
  • Assist wherever needed to ensure successful events

Qualifications

  • Experience in catering, banquets, or high-volume kitchens
  • Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work calmly in fast-paced environments
  • Leadership and team collaboration skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
