We are currently recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to join our team at Maynooth University.

Job Description
The Catering Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations to ensure excellent customer service and compliance with company standards. The Supervisor ensures meals are prepared, presented, and served to the highest quality, while maintaining a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for all guests.
This role involves supervising staff, coordinating shift duties, and ensuring adherence to food safety, health and safety, and company policies. The Catering Supervisor also acts as the main point of contact for customer feedback, handling issues professionally and escalating to management when required.
In addition, the position requires effective teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to motivate staff to deliver consistent service excellence. The Catering Supervisor works under the direction of the General Manager, contributing to a positive workplace culture and supporting training, compliance, and continuous improvement across the operation.
Candidate Description
· To ensure appropriate levels of customer care are delivered at all times
· To adopt a good work ethic and team work and be readily available to assist in all areas as required dependent upon the needs of the business
· To ensure that all meals are served efficiently
· To be fully aware of the 14 Allergenic Ingredients, communicate with the kitchen if unsure about dishes on the menu
· To deal with any customer complaints in a professional manner and to notify management of these
· To carry out cleaning duties on a daily basis for example but not limited to toilets, work areas, restaurant entrances, windows, tables condiments, back of house, furniture etc
· To ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and other persons on the premises
· Cash handling & reconciliation where appropriate training has been given
· To carry out opening and closing of restaurant/bar/cafe where appropriate training has been given
· To report and where possible take action on incidents of accidents or damage
· To attend all training courses as notified to you by management
· To be familiar with and adhere to all areas outlined in the company handbook and sign same
· To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and clean uniform
· To be punctual for work and report directly to the manager on duty on arrival at work
· To sign in and out when you’re rostered for work & sign your name to the sheet at the end of the working week
· To be fully aware of chemicals used in the work place
· To have full knowledge of and be able to act upon fire procedures
· To be responsible, whilst liaising with the Site Manager, for self-development
· To be aware of and comply with statutory requirements regarding the work place such as health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention etc
· To carry out any additional duties as may be notified to you by management
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar role

Experience:
- hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From €15.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Maynooth, CO. Kildare: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- HACCP: 1 year (preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- full drivers license (required)
