Experienced Chef/Cook required for a busy meals school provider.

About us: We are a small, family run business dedicated to providing nutritious, freshly prepared hot meals to school children every day. Our meals are cooked fresh each morning and delivered hot directly to schools we serve, ensuring every child has a wholesome and enjoyable lunch.

We currently provide meals for approx. 1000 students each day across our local community. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented chef/cook who shares our passion for creating high quality, delicious school meals and committed to making mealtimes a positive experience for every child we serve

Hours Monday to Friday: Start time 6am -11am/12pm (to be confirmed) Contract will be based on the academic year.

Experience in supplier ordering, portion control, HACCP, customer service, good communication skills.

Applicants should have the following abilities:

• Highly organised
• Self motivated
• Work well on their own or in a team
• canteen experience an advantage
• Level 3 Food Hygiene or Food Safety Management an advantage but not essential as course can be completed online after you start
• Garda Vetting may be required for this role
• Must be friendly with a positive attitude
• This role requires standing throughout your shift and lifting of oven trays and food boxes. Applicant must be physically fit, without neck, back or shoulder problems.
• Applicant must have own form of transport as kitchen is based outside of town with no public transport.

Job Type: Fixed term- approx. 183 days a year- full academic calendar will be provided to successful applicant

Experience:

• Relevant: 2 years (required)
• HACCP: 2 years (preferred)

Language: English (required)

Work Location: Dowth, Co Meath

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience

• Slane, County Meath: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

• CANTEEN OR SIMILAR: 2 years (preferred)
