- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience. - 5+ years professional experience in Civil engineering with a focus on land development, large industrial, warehouse and commercial projects using local and/or international Codes. - Proficiency in foundations, earthworks, grading, paving, storm water, utility design and landscaping. - Working knowledge of design of reinforced concrete civil structures. - Ability and willingness to travel internationally/domestically with short notice.

The Civil Engineer in Field Services Engineering (FSE) - Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA) team has the ability to understand the customer demand as well as the technology & business opportunities that exist in order to achieve the organization’s goals. You understand key problems, and propose and analyze multiple solutions to produce the most efficient, cost effective, resilient, and scalable Civil designs/remediation achievable. As a Data Center FSE Civil Engineer at AWS, you will lead Civil Engineering designs and audits for Amazon Data Centers. You will be also providing subject matter expertise support to multidisciplinary teams and organizations comprised of Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, Facility Managers on matters related to civil engineering. As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical design guidance and vendor oversight, solve large-scale implementation issues, and build a strong understanding of site design and program requirements. The successful candidate will be a strong leader who can prioritize effectively, communicate clearly, and demonstrate a consistent track record of delivery. They should have the ability to solve problems creatively while maintaining high quality and customer focus. The role requires working collaboratively within a team and relying on others to accomplish tasks. This includes partnering with various internal Amazon groups as well as external consultants and developers. Key job responsibilities As a Civil Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. In addition, you will also support initiatives such as new generation/product designs. You will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise in Civil Engineering to: - Work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals on a wide variety of conceptual design, build, and retrofit projects at existing Data Center - Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction. - Respond and visit sites to observe site specific issues and develop engineering solutions to overcome challenges. - Create, review and release Data Center Civil improvements and designs. - Drive refinements to the Basis of Design, product development, sustainability, and template specifications for Civil systems to support continuous improvement of future Data Center designs. - Create, review and release design (Request for Proposals) RFPs. - Understand the existing building/services system in order to create, review and initiate Civil audit/remediation and maintenance projects to ensure that the building and site is operating efficiently and safely. - Manage external Civil design consultants through the audit, design and implementation of a variety of projects while coordinating with internal engineering, construction and other stakeholder teams. - Lead initiatives aimed at improving quality, schedule, consistency or reducing costs to in-flight and future Data Center construction and improvement projects. - Work on multiple fast paced Data Center capital improvement projects simultaneously without compromising safety and availability constraints. This role is based in Singapore and is part of the APJC (Asia, Pacific, Japan, China) team, the successful candidate will lead and support projects throughout the APJC region. Successful candidates may also need to travel to other APJC Availability Zones for project support to the local execution team (40% travel expected) . The FSE-CSA team is a global team and the successful candidate will be expected to support global projects and initiatives as needed.
