About the role
Quirindi Health Service incorporates Quirindi Hospital and HealthOne Quirindi. Located approximately 50 minutes south of Tamworth, the service is supported by Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital for escalation of care and has an experienced multidisciplinary team including Medical Officers, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Allied Health and Administration staff. The role will support excellence in clinical practice, quality care and improved clinical outcomes.

You will be well supported through comprehensive orientation, structured training and ongoing mentoring from experienced clinical leaders both locally and across the New England North West region.

What you'll be doing

Mentor and support nurses to achieve and maintain standards of practice within their scope of role and model of care.
Implement a planned education program that meets the needs of staff through direct education and by engaging clinical leads across the New England Northwest region.
Facilitate clinical teaching and learning using advanced professional practice knowledge, skills and effective communication.
Coordinate clinical education, including individualised teaching, orientation, ongoing education, supervision and support for nursing staff and undergraduate nurses.
Participate in relevant local and district meetings to build effective professional relationships and address clinical and operational needs.
Function as a clinical expert by maintaining currency of knowledge and expertise, including participation in research/quality improvement projects.
Maintain clinical expertise and currency of knowledge, including participation in research and quality improvement activities.

About you
You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with strong emergency and acute nursing skills and a demonstrated commitment to clinical education.
You will bring:

Current nursing registration with AHPRA.
Relevant postgraduate experience in emergency, critical care or education, or willingness to work towards this, will be highly regarded.
Credentialing as an Adult and Paediatric Advanced Life Support trainer or willingness to obtain.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.
Experience in a rural clinical environment and a commitment to high-quality patient care will be highly valued.
Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills as a Registered Nurse.
