Reporting to the Director, Commercial Strategy & Planning, this function plays a crucial role in meeting company revenue, category share and profit targets, advancing strategic customer partnerships and enabling cross functional collaboration. You will be responsible for the commercial aspects of our brand strategy, while also ensuring the successful execution of these strategies with our customers. You will be the subject matter expert in our category data & tools as well as responsible for insights, trends & perspective on market dynamics. As part of a cross functional business team, you will be responsible for identifying category growth opportunities that both allow Burnbrae to achieve our objectives while also driving category growth for our customers.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 4Ps Strategy, Tactics & Ownership of Commercial Guidelines: Collaborate closely with Consumer Marketing & Account Management to design and execute optimal 4Ps strategies to achieve growth targets. As the owner of our commercial guidelines you will be responsible for making fact-based, actionable recommendations internally & externally.
  • Category & Customer Insights Leadership: Support Burnbrae Sales organization and our customers with actionable category insights focused on achieving revenue & market share and profit goals.
  • Strategic Planning: key role in internal business planning processes focused on both near term objective setting as well as long range business planning. Serve as the Commercial voice in all innovation discussions collaborating cross functionally to bring innovation plans to life with our customers.
  • Trade Spend Activation Opportunities & ROI: Collaborate with Commercial Finance to determine optimal product pricing and promotional guardrails based on desired outcomes.
  • Key Business Process Leadership: Leadership of key cross functional monthly forums central to business team effectiveness

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 3-7 years of experience in category management, sales, marketing, or commercial strategy roles from a CPG company
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce
  • Experience and ability to use Nielsen, Numerator and / or other syndicated data tools. Experience with customer specific data sets considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and translate Information → Data → Insights → Actions
  • Self-starter with ability to perform well in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and externally to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills & aptitude for business planning
  • Basic experience with SAP TPM (or other TPM Software)
