Job Title: Compliance and Regulation Specialist
Job Description:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is crucial in ensuring that Ire Wel Pallet operations comply with ISO standards, and other industry standards maintaining high-quality standards through regular audits and testing, and driving continuous improvement across all departments. The successful candidate will lead our efforts in quality reporting, lean practices, employee training, and development planning. Additionally, they will manage our health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with accreditation bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- ISO Management, Auditing, and Testing:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ISO standards within the organisation.
- Conduct regular internal audits and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present detailed audit reports to senior management and for ISO audits.
- Quality and Lean Reporting:
- Develop and maintain quality metrics and reporting systems.
- Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Report on quality performance and lean initiatives to management.
- Lean and Continuous Improvement:
- Support the Chief Operating Officer in the delivery of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of lean initiatives and make recommendations for further improvements.
- Employee Training and Development Planning and Execution:
- Support the Chief Operating Officer in assessing and identifying training needs and develop comprehensive training programs for employees.
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions on quality, lean practices, and safety protocols.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as necessary.
- Accreditation and Regulatory Bodies:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation and regulatory bodies (e.g., EPAL, NSAI, FSC, Timcon).
- Prepare and manage documentation required for accreditation and re-accreditation processes.
- Sit on advisory committees on behalf of Ire Wel Pallets as requested.
- Health and Safety:
- Develop, manage, and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments.
- Provide training and guidance on health and safety practices to employees.
- Ensure the organisation complies with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Experience and Skills:
- A can-do, positive attitude is essential.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, Green Belt) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in ISO management, auditing, and testing.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and reporting skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering employee training programs.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices is essential.
- Relevant certifications in Health and Safety are preferable.
- Proven communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Proficiency in IT systems and ability to adapt to new systems as required.
- Proven abilities to develop and support employees in line with training plans.
- Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail are essential.
