Construction Planner at Glebe Builders
Glebe Builders is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Construction Planner to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a range of construction projects, ensuring effective planning and execution from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender Planning and BOQ Review: Conduct thorough reviews of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and aid in the development of tender plans, converting estimates into accurate manhour calculations.
- Project Scope Analysis: Perform detailed analyses of project scopes to ensure alignment with client expectations and project objectives.
- Tender Program Development: Create and tailor tender programs that align with project timelines and deliverables
- Manpower Requirement Estimation Estimate manpower needs based on BOQ evaluations and develop Manpower Histograms and S-Curves for effective workforce planning.
- Preconstruction Planning Coordination: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to monitor design progress and proactively address potential delays, ensuring clear communication with relevant stakeholders. - Impact Assessments: Document delays and their potential impacts on schedules, providing backup for analysis and working closely with the Commercial Department to address any additional cost implications.
- Procurement Coordination: Liaise with the procurement team to confirm that delivery schedules for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services are maintained to minimise risk to the project.
- Progress Measurement Systems: Implement robust measurement systems and detailed programmes prior to the start of construction to track progress effectively.
- Ongoing Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor subcontractor performance and overall site progress, providing regular updates and utilising software solutions for enhanced reporting accuracy.
- Communication of Delays Proactively communicate any site delays categorized by risk level and collaborate on necessary adjustments to project timelines.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction planning or a related role. - Strong proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
