Continuous Improvement & Operations Manager

Are you experienced in operations, logistics, or supply chain management? Are you analytically sharp with a strong drive? Join us as Continuous Improvement & Operations Manager, and form the bridge between strategy and operations. Leading a dynamic Fulfilment Center (FC) team, improving supply chain operations, and ensuring smooth and safe daily operations. You will be based in one of our Fulfilment Centers (FCs) in the Netherlands.

Our FC's are the heart of our operations where our shoppers pick groceries for thousands of customers 7 days per week. Around 700 people work in one FC, in multiple shifts from the early morning until the late evening. From the FC, the picked groceries are sent to our Hubs, from where they are delivered to the customers with our electric vehicles.

What's your role about?

Using your analytical mindset and charismatic leadership skills you will bring our innovative supply chain to the next level, you analyze our current way of working, propose actionable plans and motivate the team to work with you. Your role is two-sided: you will manage an FC team and daily operations, and use your brainpower to propose and implement well-defined strategies and action plans to structurally improve our supply chain operations. You don't have to be afraid you'll sit behind your desk the entire day and no two days will be the same.

You'll be in charge of the entire operational process for around 2 days a week. During this day you lead +/- 100 Shoppers and their team leads to ensure all groceries leave the FC complete and on time. Supervisor shifts come in day (06:30 - 16:00) and evening (14:00 - 22:00) shifts and can take place every day of the week, including weekends.

The remaining days you will use your operational expertise to implement diverse projects to optimize and scale our operations, so we can continue our incredible growth. With insights gained from the floor, you analyze the workflow of the FC and find efficiency gainers. Soon you'll have multiple projects under your belt. You usually pilot a project within your own FC first, and manage the roll-out in other FCs when it's a success.

In short, you will:

• Supervise the daily operations in your FC +/- 2 days a week
• Be the team lead of one of the teams in the FC
• Take ownership over your projects while getting the freedom to experiment
• Formulate, manage and monitor operation metrics while diagnosing and improving processes, procedures, and operational performance
• Implement and test projects to improve the flow of processes and the Warehouse Management System
• Consult and collaborate with all relevant departments to improve our supply chain
• You'll have the FC in Zwolle as your base location, but are open to travel to other FC's and the HQ in Amsterdam when necessary.

What you need

• Master's degree, preferably in Engineering or Supply Chain
• 2-5 years of full-time work experience
• Preferably experience in a leadership role
• A get-up-and-go attitude, you can be ready at 6 A.M.
• Ability to quickly identify issues and provide viable solutions
• The intellectual horsepower to learn on the go, and quickly grasp numerical information
• A pragmatic approach to turn your ideas into a successful implementation
• Hands-on mentality, you stack shelves and pack boxes to better understand the flow of processes
• Leadership skills, you know how to motivate and coach your team
• Fluency in English and preferably also in Dutch
