Contracts Manager (Fit-Out)

Fredercia, Denmark

Castle Group is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the commercial and contractual delivery of a large-Data centre fit-out project.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the commercial success of a major pharmaceutical fit-out project, ensuring contractual certainty, robust risk management, and strong commercial control from start to completion.

The successful candidate will oversee contract administration, subcontractor procurement and performance, commercial reporting, and risk management to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while protecting the company's contractual position throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration: Manage the full lifecycle of the main contract and all subcontract packages, from award through to final account, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Subcontractor & Package Management: Lead the procurement, appointment, and performance management of subcontractors and specialist trades within a live project environment, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Variations & Claims: Prepare, negotiate, and manage variations, extensions of time, and claims, maintaining accurate contemporaneous records throughout the project.
  • Commercial Control: Collaborate with the commercial team to manage project costs, control packages, and deliver on agreed commercial objectives, including valuations, payment applications, and cost reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks, escalating issues early to protect programme and margin.
  • Safety Alignment: Support Castle Group's Safety System, ensuring contractual and subcontract arrangements reinforce a strong safety culture throughout each project phase.
  • Quality Alignment: Ensure contractual and commercial decisions support build quality in line with client expectations and Castle Group standards.
  • Client Relations: Maintain positive client relationships, providing regular contractual and commercial updates, and risk management reporting.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Commercial Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a Contracts Manager or Commercial Manager role within construction or fit-out, ideally on mission-critical or pharmaceutical projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, contract/cost management tools, and CDE systems (Procore, BIM 360, or similar).
  • Skills: Excellent numeracy, report writing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Solutions-oriented with a strong understanding of commercial and contractual realities.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's licence and eligibility to work without visa sponsorship.

This role requires a confident commercial leader with strong contractual knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and proven experience managing the commercial delivery of complex fit-out projects in fast-paced, high-specification environments.
