Description:
Role Purpose and Objectives:
Leadership & Coordination – Guide a team of project managers, allocate tasks, and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
Project Governance & Oversight – Ensure compliance with Council frameworks, maintain documentation, and refine delivery practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication – Act as the primary contact for project communication, coordinate engagement, and prepare reports.
Risk, Safety & Compliance – Oversee adherence to safety, environmental, and risk management standards within projects.
Financial & Procurement Management – Monitor budgets, support funding proposals, and oversee procurement and contract administration.

This role comes with the option of a commuter use vehicle. Exact costing and policy requirements can be discussed upon during the appointment of the successful applicant.
Skills and Experiences:
To Apply for this role, please include a cover letter addressing the following Key Selection Criteria:
Essential qualifications and experience
Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial experience.
Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects or programs
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team, including mentoring, workload management, and performance oversight.
Extensive contract and procurement management experience, including acting under delegated authority.
Sound understanding of project risk management, governance, compliance obligations, and local government frameworks.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to build consensus and manage competing priorities.
High-level analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in complex project environments.
Proficient in project management software and systems, with strong digital literacy.
Desirable qualifications and experience
Local government experience, particularly in Victorian regulatory and funding environments.
Experience delivering projects in community, recreation, or roads infrastructure sectors.
Certification in project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP).
