CREW LEADER
A Tree Service Crew Leader supervises and directs tree care crews, ensuring safe and efficient job execution while maintaining high standards of work and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include leading, training, and mentoring crew members, overseeing the operation of equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. They also communicate with clients, assess tree health, and manage the overall workflow of the crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
Leading and directing a tree care crew, delegating tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Safety Management:
Enforcing safety guidelines, conducting pre-trip inspections, and ensuring crew members utilize proper safety gear.
- Tree Care Operations:
Supervising and performing tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and other arboricultural services.
- Equipment Operation:
Operating and maintaining various tree care equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and stump grinders.
- Client Communication:
Interacting with clients, understanding their needs, and providing solutions for their tree care concerns.
- Training and Mentoring:
Training crew members on proper techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Quality Control:
Ensuring all work is performed to industry standards and meets client expectations.
- Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including time sheets, material usage, and job completion reports.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in tree care, including pruning, removal, and cabling.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of Arboriculture: Understanding of tree biology, pruning techniques, and safety protocols.
- Equipment Proficiency: Familiarity with ALL tree care equipment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid Driver's License: Required for driving to and from job sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
