Custodian/Facility Maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.

2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required (will certify on site once hired)

3. Experience: Previous custodial or janitorial and some maintenance experience in health care or school system preferred.

Other Skills:

 Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 Ability to follow directions/detail oriented.

 Demonstrated organizational skills and meeting time constraints.

 Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintains mechanical and electrical equipment in operable conditions.

2. Performs maintenance tasks in accordance with procedures and preventative maintenance schedule.

3. Responds to maintenance requests by participants and staff.

4. Maintains storage and mechanical areas in clean, orderly manner. Maintains interior and exterior of all buildings.

5. Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.

6. Performs basic landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks, including applying ice melt, keeping grounds free from garbage, setting out plants, watering and trimming of trees and shrubs.

7. Provides touch up painting to ensure attractive environment.

8. As requested by Therapy and upon approval of supervisor, installs adaptive equipment in the homes of Carolina SeniorCare participants and assemble new equipment

9. Follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule.

10. Cleans assigned areas of building, including carpeting, walkways, furnishings, and fixtures, according to floor care and housekeeping policy. Provides floor care service to hard surface floors and carpeted floors, including routine cleaning and heavy duty cleaning. Provides floor services, such as stripping, waxing, spray buffing, sweeping, mopping, to include proper edging on all floor surfaces.

11. Empties, cleans, and relines all waste baskets and receptacles through out Carolina SeniorCare daily. Removes waste and disposes of all waste.

12. Sets up and breaks down equipment used for events and scheduled throughout the facility and cleans areas used for events.

13. Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.Cleans and disinfects fixtures, floors, walls, mirrors, and replenishes bathroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, bathroom tissue, and other disposable items as needed.

Pay will be discussed based upon skills and qualifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
