O’Toole Transport is a family-owned Irish logistics company established in Galway in 1996, specialising in temperature-controlled food distribution across Ireland, the UK and Europe. With over 300 employees and continued growth across our operations, we are now expanding our customs team and recruiting a Customs Clearance Manager.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Manager to lead and oversee daily customs operations across Ireland, the UK and EU trade lanes. The role focuses on ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely clearances while managing team performance, workflow, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00am–7:00pm
Salary: €70,000–€80,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily customs clearance operations across imports, exports and transit.
• Ensure full compliance with Revenue, HMRC and EU customs regulations.
• Oversee workflow across shared inboxes and systems to avoid delays.
• Act as escalation point for complex shipments and inspections.
• Lead, support and allocate work across the customs team.
• Maintain SOPs and drive continuous process improvement.
• Liaise with planners, drivers and customers to resolve issues quickly.
• Monitor KPIs including turnaround time, accuracy and service levels.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ customs clearance experience (freight/logistics preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Irish, UK and EU customs procedures.
• Experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Pay: €70,000.00-€80,000.00 per year
